The Environment Bureau and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department have embarked on an exercise to develop a city-level Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP) under the Convention on Biological Diversity (the Convention). In preparing the BSAP for Hong Kong, we examine the existing condition of biodiversity and practices for its conservation in Hong Kong, and identify any additional work needed to be undertaken for compliance with the Convention and its Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 (the Strategic Plan) in light of local needs and priorities. We do this through an open and participatory process in the form of a series of public engagement events.
Through this website, we keep members of the public involved and updated on the engagement process. You can find a brief introduction of this exercise, information on engagement events and education activities, engagement materials, as well as a biodiversity portal containing documents, materials and websites relevant to biodiversity conservation.
You are most welcome to send us your views or comments on issues related to the formulation of BSAP via this email – firstname.lastname@example.org. Your participation in and contribution to this process is most valuable to us and the key to the formulation of a successful BSAP for Hong Kong.
