Monitoring and studies

We are actively monitoring the status of coral communities of Hong Kong through the "Reef Check" activity. Some 900 recreational divers took part in the annual Reef Check event and about 33 sites were successfully surveyed each year.

Results of the Reef Check are reported to the public to raise their awareness of the current status of our marine environment and to seek their cooperation in protecting our precious marine resources.

We also undertake comprehensive coral studies to provide information for sound and adaptive management.
