This common sea cucumber clings to rocks on reefs with a reasonable current. It extends the arms to filter food from the water and continually passed it into the mouth.

 

   

It is quite abundant on shallow coral communities in Hong Kong and is reported to be very common in southern Hainan Island. This genus includes species of large, edible sea cucumbers.

This is the most common sea cucumber in Hong Kong and can be found throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific.
