Description: This slender cyprinid fish has a long body and distinctive ventral protrusible mouth bearing 2 pairs of barbels. The origins of the dorsal and pelvic fins are opposite. Its caudal fin is deeply forked. Body is light yellowish with 5 to 6 black vertical bars.
