Description: The fish has a robust body with a large wide, flat-topped and pointed head. It possesses a pale bar running from head to caudal peduncle dorsally. Body is tan in colour overall when alive. Its lower jaw extends beyond the upper jaw and mouth superior. There are 2 dark transverse lines running from eye margin to cheek. Cheek has 6 transverse rows of pit organ canals.

  • Records from streams and estuaries in North District, Sai Kung on Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island.
