Description: The Wild Carp has an elongated and laterally compressed body. Its head is small and terminal mouth is pointed without barbel. The fish is characterized by its lateral line which bends downwards suddenly above the pectoral fin forming a sharp angle and extends along the lower part of its body till the middle of the caudal fin. The lower lobe of the deeply forked caudal fin is longer than the upper lobe. The fish generally has light green grey back and silvery white sides and belly. The caudal fin is greyish with dark edge.
