Description: Body moderately robust, head wide, flattened above; adipose eyelid not well developed; lips thin, lower lip with a high symphysial knob; maxilla markedly exposed posteriorly when mouth is closed. Second dorsal and anal fins scaled anteriorly and along base; no elongate pectoral axillary scale; 10-11 lateral lines. Body greenish-grey dorsally and silvery ventrally; fins grey or bluish with dusky margins; golden ring around the iris; pectoral fin with golden base, and may have a dark spot.
