Description: This slender, flat-sided cyprinid fish has a long and slightly compressed body. Terminal mouth slit slightly upwards without barbel. Its back is generally brown to brownish-olive; its sides and belly are yellowish or whitish with a silver sheen. The fish was previously mis-identified as Yaoshanicus sp.
