Up to now there are 23 country parks and 16 special areas (11 of which lie inside country parks) with a total area of 41,583 hectares. Over 11 million visitors are recorded each year and their activities range from leisure walking, morning exercise, hiking, barbecuing, camping to school field study and scientific research. In order to provide a direct exchange of views between the visitors and the Country & Marine Parks Authority on the services and facilities provided, a Country Parks Visitor Liaison Group has been established. Members of the public who are concerned with country parks are welcome to participate in the Liaison Group to give suggestion and discuss on various matters concerning country parks and special areas with responsible officers of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
