Tung Ping Chau Campsite

Introduction: Crescent shaped Ping Chau is the most eastern island in the territory. The campsite is next to the Kang Lau Shek, a spectacular stack overlooking the sea. Apart from the multitude of shrub, the site is also surrounded by various beach-type vegetations and birds. There is also a huge wave-cut platform adjacent to the campsite. You can lie on the ground to watch moon-light or sunrise.
Facilities: Barbeque pits, benches and tables, drains, clotheslines and pavilions.
Hygienic facilities: Dry toilet pits
Source of water: Stream water (seasonal supply)
Highlights:

Kang Lau Shek - It is one of the landmarks on the island characterized by two sea stacks stand on a wave-cut platform. "Kang Lau means watch tower and this reveals the shape of the rock features.

Lung Lok Shui - Situated at middle-west coast of the island, it is a bed of dolomitic cherty siltstone and descends slowly southeast to meet the sea. This resembles a dragon's back wriggling into the seas. Since the composition of this siltstone is mainly silicon, it is hard and resistant to erosion.

How to get there:

Board on a Tsui Wah ferry at Ma Liu Shui Pier and disembark at Wong Ye Kok Pier at Tung Ping Chau. Walk towards Sha Tau Tsuen for about 20 minutes.

Ferry schedules:
Saturdays and Sundays departure at 9am, with an extra sailing on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. The ferry returns from Ping Chau on Saturdays and Sundays at 5:15pm from Wong Yea Kok Pier.
