Our Work

• Planning and designation of new marine parks and marine reserve in Hong Kong

• Managing marine parks and marine reserve in Hong Kong including

  • Design and designate of special zones inside the marine parks (e.g. core area in Tung Ping Chau Marine Park)

  • Monitor the ecology, water quality and environment of marine parks and marine reserve

  • Process applications and issue permits to controll activities inside marine parks

  • Maintenance of parks facilities such as notice boards and mooring buoys for visitors and other park-users.

• Enforcement of Marine Parks Ordinance (Cap. 476) and Marine Parks and Marine Reserves Regulations (Cap. 476A) within the marine parks and marine reserve in Hong Kong.

• Design and conduct education programmes to promote and raise public awareness on marine conservation in Hong Kong.
