Hong Kong's Country Parks
Please take reference to the Notices for
Country Park Visitors.
Hong Kong's Country Parks, all managed by the Country and Marine Parks
Board, provide the public with recreational and educational benefits and
research facilities, while protecting Hong Kong's diverse wild fauna and
flora.
The Country Parks are superb natural treasures of Hong Kong. Apart from
being recreational outlets for busy Hong Kong citizens, they are also
home to thousands of wild animals and plants. The Country Parks are worthy
of conserving, and to achieve this they are protected by the Country Parks
Ordinance. Littering, driving, camping and lighting fires in non-designated
areas, undertaking commercial activities, damaging plants, bringing air
guns and hunting appliances are all prohibited in the Country Parks. Offenders
are liable to prosecution.
The Country Parks Ordinance addresses the different needs of visitors
and ensures that they can fully enjoy the facilities and opportunities
provided by the parks, while keeping controls over certain damaging activities
to ensure protection of the environment. We encourage visitors to make
good use of the Country Park facilities; and we hope that, in turn, visitors
will help protect these valuable natural resources.
