You can help to prevent hill fires
Hill fires could destroy the vegetation, ruin valuable plantations, scar the countryside and threaten human life and property. Most fires are caused by carelessness of the people. The public are advised to pay special attention to prevent hill fires. Never leave a fire in the countryside. Put burning joss sticks and paper inside a metal container to avoid sparks which might ignite the grass.
Attention
Any person who has lit, or is using a fire which was lit, in or near any forest, plantation or area of open countryside shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of $25,000 and to imprisonment for 1 year.
