Application for Export of Horse

General information

Horses that participate in the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events will be re-exported to their original transportation hubs or some other destination countries after competition. The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department is able to provide assistance to facilitate the owners/agents to re-export their horses.

Procedures (Attention: Application fee has been waived)

Owners/agents of the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic horses must make contact with the quarantine authority of their destination countries to obtain the import requirements of their horses. The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department should then be informed about such requirements. The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department will assist the owners/agents to fulfill the import requirements. One common requirement is clinical examination of the horses by an Official Veterinarian of the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and issuance of Health Certificate for the horses examined within 24 hours prior to departure.

Application for the issuance of Health Certificate for export of horses must be made by (a) submitting electronic form or (b) in person or by post: complete an Application for Animal Health Certificate (Form No.: AF300-HCA) and submitting it to the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.

The relevant Health Certificate will be issued after the examination if all import requirements are fulfilled.

The official shipping agent of 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events is able to make arrangement for all participating teams.
