* Exemption Examination for Large Dogs Main Menu

The exemption examination

Under the Dangerous Dogs Regulation, ¨large dogs¨ can be exercised off leash in any country park and while swimming at sea. Some owners have expressed a wish to exercise their large dogs off leash in other areas. To cater for this the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation can offer exemption to dogs that demonstrate by examination that they are obedient and non-aggressive.

AFCD will hold examination sessions every year. If you are interested in participating this or other examination to be held in the future, please return your Application form for exemption examination for large dogs (PDF format) together with the Schedule of exemption examination for large dogs by mail to Animal Management Centre(NTS), No. 98, Che Kung Miu Road, Tai Wai, N.T. or by fax at 2609 4642.

Please note that participation in the examination is voluntary. Owners of large dogs who are content to exercise their dogs on leash in areas outside of country parks need not apply to sit this examination.
