Pets Re-homing Scheme

Many animals need a second chance at being a favourable pet after they were abandoned or given up by their owners. AFCD encourages the public to adopt abandoned or surrendered dogs and cats through approved non-profit making voluntary animal welfare organizations. Abandoned and unclaimed pets with friendly temperament and healthy condition will be selected for re-homing. These animals include dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas and etc.

If the public wish to adopt any animals being held by AFCD, they should urgently contact one of the animal welfare organizations which participate in the procedures for rehoming animals from AFCD.

If the adopter wishes to adopt a specific individual animal currently kept by AFCD, such as a specific stray or other animal which he/she saw caught, then, he/she should urgently contact and alert [by telephone (Tel: 1823) and subsequently in writing] the respective AFCD Animal Management Centre [AMC] to save and keep this particular animal pending the processing of the adoption through the relevant animal welfare organizations.
