Assistant Clerical Officer (Post-Retirement Service Contract Scheme)

Salary: $21,880 per month

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Clerical Officer under the Post-Retirement Service Contract (PRSC) Scheme.  Only retired civil servants / civil servants who are on final leave prior to their retirement meeting the following entry requirements are eligible for applying for this PRSC position.  Resignees will not be considered.

Entry Requirements:
Candidates should be -
(1) retired Clerical Officers (CO) and Assistant Clerical Officer (ACO) who have ceased work in the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for not more than one year as at 31.12.2017; 
(2) retiring CO and ACO who are on final leave prior to their retirement as at 31.12.2017.

Candidates must have satisfactory performance and conduct in the most recent years of service in the Government.

Mainly deployed on –
(1) preparing and issuing invitation for seeking acquisition proposals from Standing Offer Agreements (SOA) contractors and placing orders and arranging payment for SOA items;
(2) assisting in preparation and issue of quotation invitations for procurement of goods and services under direct purchase authority;
(3) assisting in preparation of various returns and conducting annual inventory checking;
(4) updating information on the Departmental Intranet; and
(5) performing any other assigned duties.

Working Hours:
The incumbents are required to work 44 hours gross per week, may be required to work overtime.  Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.

Working Locations:
The position holders will be required to work in AFCD Headquarters in Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices.

Terms of Appointment:
Applicants will be appointed on contract terms under the PRSC Scheme. The contract period is around 12 months. The actual contract period will be determined by the AFCD according to operational needs.

Fringe Benefits:
14 days paid annual leave; rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

For pensioners taking up PRSC positions, the payment of their monthly pensions will be suspended under the pension legislation during the period of their PRSC employment, unless and until they have reached the applicable normal or prescribed retirement age specified in the relevant pension legislation.

(3) Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting so as to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post.

(4) Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in one to four weeks from the closing date for applications. Those who are not invited for selection interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

General Notes for Post-Retirement Service Vacancies

(A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
