Introduction

What updated information we have on Marine Benthic Communities in Hong Kong waters?

[pic] The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has commissioned a consultancy study between 2001 and 2003 to collect up-to-date information of marine benthic communities in Hong Kong with a view to providing accurate ecological data for conservation of costal marine environment. The study aims to establish an updated baseline of marine benthic communities in Hong Kong for the assessment of impacts of development projects on marine benthic ecology and for the conservation of coastal marine environment.Major findings and recommendations of the study are summarized in Executive Summary which can be accessed through References section.
