Introduction

"Connecting with Nature" is an online platform featuring biodiversity education programmes, initiated by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. From February to October 2021, together with our partners, we promoted a variety of programmes, including online events, guided tours, workshops, etc. Events under three themes, namely “Appreciate Flora”, “Night Safari” and “Ecology and Culture of Local Fisheries and Agriculture” were highlighted at different seasons.

Apart from their ornamental values, plants play crucial ecological roles. Being parts of the ecosystem, plants interact with animals in a complexity of ways, giving rise to rich biodiversity.
