 Endangered Species Protection 4-Panel Comic Drawing Competition

Objective 
 

To enhance the awareness of the members of the public and students on the importance of endangered species protection and provide them with the opportunity to show their creative talents.  
 

Theme of 4-Panel comic drawing
The content of the 4-Panel comic drawing can contain the elements in 
-         anti-poaching and anti-smuggling of wild animals and plants 
-         the prevention of over-exploitation of wildlife resources 
-         the promotion of sustainable use of wildlife resources.

 Categories

There will be 2 categories in the competition:  

1       The Secondary School Section (F.1 to F.7 students)
2       The Open Section (Age 16 or over)  

Rules

1.      Original manuscripts or colour printouts in A3 or A4 size are required for submission.  All entries must be original works and match with the theme of competition. 
2.     Drawing tool not limited. Computer-aided design is welcomed but the use of Clip Art is disallowed.  
3.
   Words or captions can also be used to illustrate the message.    

Submission Methods

1.   Entry forms can be downloaded from here or obtained from the 7/F, Agriculture, Fisheries and  Conservation Department, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303, Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon during office hour. 

2.     Participant please summit the entry form together with the entry by post to the Endangered Species Protection Division, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Counter No.7, 5/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon or  by delivery to the same address during office hours (Monday to Friday: 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.) before 31 May 2009 (postage day).  All entries of the Secondary School Section must be submitted through the respective schools.  

3.      For computer-aided designs, a CD-R containing the following two files should be submitted together with a colour printout:  

     
(1) the design in its original sizein psd, ai or jpeg format);and 
     
(2)  a zipped file in JPEG format of less than 1MB in size 

Judging

The entries will be judged on expression of the theme, overall aesthetic level and creativity.

Announcement of Results

Results will be published on the AFCD website at www.cites.org.hk in mid of June 2009. Winners will be also notified individually. 

Prize Presentation Ceremony and Exhibition

The prize presentation ceremony and exhibition will be held in Hong Kong Wetland Park in July 2009.   

Terms and Conditions 

1. The AFCD reserves the right to determine the terms and conditions and the results of the competition, and to modify these terms and conditions without prior notice.  
2.  Only one entry is allowed for each participant.   
3.  The submission of an entry shall be deemed as the granting of consent to the unconditional transfer of all copyright to the AFCD.  The AFCD reserves the right to revise, use, reproduce and distribute any entry without obtaining prior consent from the participant.  
4.  The AFCD has the right to use, publish or display the particulars of the winners (including their names, school names, age, photographs, etc) for publicity purpose.   
5.  All submissions must be of original design.  It is the participant’s responsibility to settle any claims on intellectual property and the organizers shall not be responsible for such claims.   
6.  Entries that have received awards in other competition will not be accepted.   
7.  All submissions will not be returned.
