Hong Kong Wetland Park
Opened in May 2006, the Hong Kong Wetland Park (HKWP) is one of the millennium capital projects in Hong Kong. Adjacent to the Mai Po Inner Deep Bay Ramsar Site, its design thoughtfully integrates nature conservation, environmental education and eco-tourism. Visitors can learn about wetlands through interactive exhibitions and educational facilities, and explore in the reserve to experience the wonders of wetland ecology firsthand.
HKWP features a 10 000 square metres Visitor Center, which houses facilities such as themed exhibition galleries, theatre, multi-function room and café. Covering 60 hectares, the Wetland Reserve preserves and restores a variety of habitats for waterbirds and other wildlife. With facilities such as mangrove boardwalk, stream walk, wildside walk, succession walk and bird hides, visitors can immerse themselves in the ecology and scenery of the wetlands.
