Description: Banded Tree Brown is a common butterfly usually found in the woodland fringe. The brown wing color offers good camouflage for this woodland species. As suggested by its common name, this species has a broad white band in the fore wing and a series of submarginal eye-spots on the underside of the fore wing and hind wing. Caterpillars feed on Capillipedium parviflorum, Micostegium ciliatum, Miscanthus floridulus. Wingspan ranges from 50 to 55mm. On flight throughout the whole year.
