Butterfly themed activities on Labour Day holiday at Hong Kong Wetland Park
Thursday, April 30, 2009

The Hong Kong Wetland Park will launch a series of butterfly themed activities from tomorrow (May 1) to May 3 to kick off the special promotional event "Month of Butterflies", offering visitors an opportunity to learn more about the interesting life of butterflies and appreciate these beautiful creatures.

During the Labour Day holiday, a thematic exhibition on butterfly watching will be held at the park. The "Wetland Animal Star of the Month - Miss Butterfly" will greet visitors at the park's Wetland Interactive World. Other educational entertainments include treasure hunt games and origami workshops, through which participants will learn more about butterflies.

To showcase how we can protect and appreciate these beautiful creatures in a sustainable way, there will be guided tours on butterfly watching led by volunteers at the Butterfly Garden. Some 230 species of butterflies have been recorded in Hong Kong, and over 130 of them can be found in the Wetland Park.

If you are looking for a fun-packed holiday, come to the Wetland Park. You will encounter colourful butterflies, little green turtles and the crocodile "Pui Pui" in one go.
