Liaison group to improve marine parks services
Sunday, July 2, 2000
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) invites general public to take part in a liaison group meeting on July 22 to express their views on the uses and management of the three marine parks in Hong Kong.
The coming meeting is the 4th round of discussion of the Marine Parks Visitor Liaison Group since its establishment in September 1998.
An AFCD spokesman today (July 2) said previous meetings had proved useful as there were direct and frank exchanges of views between participants and the department's staff.
"The liaison group serves as a communication link between the public and the Country and Marine Parks Authority.
"Views and suggestions given in the meeting will help improve services and facilities provided at marine parks,' he added.
The forthcoming meeting will be held at the Lions Nature Education Centre, Tsiu Hang, Sai Kung at 2.30 pm on July 22.
Those who are interested should apply in advance for enrollment.
Enrollment forms are available at visitor centres at country parks in Aberdeen, Sai Kung, Plover Cove, Shing Mun, Clear Water Bay and Tai Mo Shan, the Lions Nature Education Centre and AFCD's Marine Parks Division, 6th Floor, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303, Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon.
They can also obtain enrollment forms from the country and marine parks website (http://parks.afcd.gov.hk/).
Completed forms should be returned to AFCD on or before July 15.
Successful applicants will be notified before July 17.
