"Cultural Festival" at Wetland Park to celebrate 60th anniversary of founding of PRC
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC), a wide range of educational and entertaining programmes will be held during the "Cultural Festival" at the Hong Kong Wetland Park from tomorrow (October 1) to October 4 to promote awareness of the importance of wetland conservation. Members of the public are welcome to visit the park and share the joyful celebration of the anniversary.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of fun activities including a wetland sketching and oil painting exhibition and a drama "Upstream - downstream: River of Time". In addition, students from seven primary schools in Yuen Long will set up exhibition booths to demonstrate the value of wetlands to humans and wildlife through a lively and interesting approach.

During the festival, a "Friends of Wetlands - Wetland Stamp for Memories" counter will be set up at the Atrium for visitors to stamp a wildlife image on a certificate that is specially designed for this event. More stamps are available for collection at the Viewing Gallery and three bird hides in the park.

Visitors under the age of 18 will also be given a limited edition "Wetlands Multi-faced Cube" souvenir upon admission while stocks last.
