Liaison group to discuss country parks services
Saturday, August 4, 2001

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) invites members of the public to take part in a meeting of the Country Parks Visitor Liaison Group on September 1 to express their views on country parks services.

An AFCD spokesman said today (August 4) that previous rounds of discussion of the Liaison Group since its establishment in 1993 had proved useful. There were direct and frank exchanges of views between participants and departmental staff.

"Views and suggestions given in the meetings will help improve services and facilities provided at country parks.

"It is hoped that participants will put forward more suggestions in the next meeting," he added.

The forthcoming meeting will be held on September 1 (Saturday) at AFCD Headquarters, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

Members of the public who are interested to join the discussion should enrol in advance.

Copies of the enrollment form are available at the visitor centres at country parks in Sai Kung, Plover Cove, Shing Mun, Clear Water Bay, Tai Mo Shan and Aberdeen; the Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung; and the Country and Marine Parks Authority (Authority) on the sixth floor of Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices.

Interested persons can also download the form from the web site of the Authority (http://parks.afcd.gov.hk/).

Completed forms should be forwarded to AFCD Headquarters by mail, or by fax to 2317 0482 before August 25. The forms can also be returned to any country park visitor centre.
