Advisory Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries appointed The Government today (May 30) announced appointments to the Advisory Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries (ACAF). The appointments, by the Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, are for two years, from May 20, 2003 to May 19, 2005. The Chairman, Professor Daniel Chan Kwong-on, and eight previous members are reappointed and seven new members are appointed. "Professor Chan has demonstrated leadership in guiding the work of ACAF in the last term of office," a spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said. "With his guidance, ACAF has given invaluable advice to the Government on matters relating to the development of local agricultural and fisheries industries and the wholesale marketing of related products. "ACAF has a good mix of members coming from various sectors. It will be able to give useful and balanced views to the Government," added the spokesman.
