Revision of fees for country park-related services
Wednesday, April 13, 2005
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) today (April 13) announced that fees for a number of services provided under the Country Parks Ordinance will be revised with effect from June 15, 2005.
"The revision, set out in the Country Parks and Special Areas (Amendment) (Fees Adjustment) Regulation 2005, has been approved by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury," the spokesman said.
"The fees are set at levels sufficient to recover the full cost of providing the services. This is in line with general government policy," he said.
Under the new fee schedule, applicants will pay 7% less for permits to sell or let or hire any commodity or article. The fees for permits to display any sign, notice, poster, banner or advertisement, and permits to carry on any activity for the purpose of any business, however, will be increased by 5%. Permits to hold any public meeting or sporting competition, make any public speech or address any public meeting, and permits to hold any event organised for the purpose of raising funds will cost 11% more.
The Country Parks and Special Areas (Amendment)(Fees Adjustment) Regulation 2005 will be gazetted on Friday (April 15) and tabled at the Legislative Council on April 20, 2005.
