Updates on freshwater fish test results

Results of 21 more samples of freshwater fish taken yesterday (September 2), including five local and 16 imported ones, were available today (September 3). One imported sample was found to contain a slight amount of malachite green, a spokesman for Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said.

The Government had notified the Mainland authorities of the test results.

As at today, the accumulative number of freshwater fish samples taken for testing of malachite green since August 20 was 161, with 17 samples found to be positive.
