Information of H5N1-infected birds on website

Information of H5N1-infected birds found in Hong Kong this year had been
uploaded onto the website of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation
Department (www.afcd.gov.hk/news/news_e.htm), a spokesman for the department
said today (March 7).
Details available include the infected species, submission date for laboratory
tests, and location found together with a distribution map.
A set of safety guidelines for handling and disposing of dead wild birds
is also available on the website. Relevant health advice on avian influenza
is available on CHP!|s website at www.info.gov.hk.
The webpages will be updated regularly once new information is available,
the spokesman added.
The public is advised to call the department through the Government hotline
1823 if a dead bird is found.
