Liaison group to improve country parks services
Monday, July 12, 1999

The Agriculture and Fisheries Department (AFD) invites country park visitors to take part in a liaison group meeting on August 14 to express their views on services provided at the territory's scenic country parks.

The coming meeting is the 12th round of discussion of the Country Parks Visitor Liaison Group since its establishment in 1993.

An AFD spokesman said today (Monday) that previous meetings had proved useful as there were direct and frank exchanges of views between participants and the department's staff.

"Views and suggestions given in the meeting will help improve services and facilities provided at country parks.

"It is hoped that participants will put forth more suggestions in the next meeting," he added.

Public with first-hand experience of country parks are welcome to join the discussion.

Those who are interested should apply in advance for enrollment.

Enrollment forms are available at the visitor centres at country parks in Sai Kung, Plover Cove, Shing Mun, Clear Water Bay and Tai Mo Shan, the Lion Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung and AFD's Country Parks Management Office at Room 1462, Canton Road Government Offices, 393 Canton Road, Kowloon.

Visitors can also obtain forms from the country and marine parks website (http://www.afdparks.gov.hk) or via the facsimile hotline (tel: 2483 3250 / 2733 2300).

Completed forms should be returned to AFD or any country park visitor centre on or before July 31.

Successful applicants will be notified by post before August 7.
