Field Assistant (Animal and Cattle Management)
(Post-Retirement Service Contract)

Salary: $20,650 per month

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) is inviting applications for the position of Field Assistant (Animal and Cattle Management) (Post-Retirement Service Contract) under the Post-Retirement Service Contract (PRSC) Scheme.  Only retired civil servants / civil servants who are on final leave prior to their retirement meeting the following entry requirements are eligible for applying for this PRSC position.  Resignees will not be considered.

Entry Requirements:
Candidates should –
(1) be retired Senior Field Assistants (Agriculture) (SFA(Agr)) and Field Assistants (Agriculture) (FA(Agr)) who have ceased work in the Inspection and Quarantine (IQ) Branch of AFCD for not more than one year as at 31.7.2018;
(2) be retiring SFA(Agr) and FA (Agr) in the IQ Branch of AFCD who are on final leave prior to their retirement as at 31.7.2018;
(3) possess relevant experience in performing the duties set out below.

Candidates must have satisfactory performance and conduct in the most recent years of service in the Government.

Duties:
Mainly deployed on –

(i) For those who will work in Animal Management Centre:

(a) leading an Animal Control Team; investigating complaints related to animal management; planning and performing day-to-day stray animal catching activities and following up complaints in the areas of operation;
(b) carrying out rabies control duties including conducting rabies vaccination for dogs, issuing dog licensing and handling animals admitted; 
(c) reporting on and submitting operation reports to his supervisor; and
(d) performing any other duties assigned by his/her supervisors.

(ii) For those who will work in the Cattle Management Team:

(a) Conducting territory-wide feral cattle catching operation and rescue duties;
(b) caring, feeding, handling, restraining and delivering of feral cattle and buffalo for neutering, administration of medicines or other agents, assisting in humane destruction and relocation; and
(c) performing any other duties as directed by his/her supervisors.

Working Hours:
The incumbents are required to work 45 hours gross per week (excluding meal break), may be required to work overtime, shifts or irregular hours, and / or work on an off-duty day, rest day, general holiday or statutory holiday.  Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.

Working Locations:
The post holders will be required to work in premises / locations related to discharge of duties, including remote locations.

Terms of Appointment:
Applicants will be appointed on contract terms under the PRSC Scheme. The contract period is about twelve months. The actual contract period will be determined by the AFCD according to operational needs.

Fringe Benefits:
14 days paid annual leave; rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

For pensioners taking up PRSC positions, the payment of their monthly pensions will be suspended under the pension legislation during the period of their PRSC employment, unless and until they have reached the applicable normal or prescribed retirement age specified in the relevant pension legislation.

Part-time Park Warden

Salary: $121 per hour

Candidates must have satisfactory performance and conduct in the most recent years of service in the Government.

Duties:
Mainly deployed on –
(1) assisting in the daily operation of the Ranger Offices, including investigation, supervisory, technical work, visitor reception and enforcement patrols;
(2) assisting in the management and operation of visitor centres, AV theatres, exhibition galleries, etc;
(3) assisting in educational and volunteer programmes in relation to protecting country parks, special areas and Geopark;
(4) driving Government vehicles when necessary; and
(5) performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
 
Working Hours:
The incumbents are required to work no more than 17.5 hours per week, may be required to work on Saturdays, general holidays and statutory holidays.  Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.

Working Locations:
The post holders will be required to work in country park areas.

Entry Requirements:
Candidates should  –
(1) be retired Personal Secretary I (PSI) or Personal Secretary II (PSII) who have ceased work in the Government for not more than three years as at 31.8.2018; or
(2) be retiring PSI or PSII who are on final leave prior to their retirement as at 31.8.2018.

Candidates must have satisfactory performance and conduct in the most recent years of service in the Government.

Duties:
Mainly deployed on –
(1) attending coming and outgoing telephone calls for senior officers;
(2) undertaking word processing for various types of documents;
(3) transcribing shorthand and audio dictation;
(4) collecting files and filing , handling fax messages and making photocopies for senior officers;
(5)  updating Government Ordinances and Regulations for senior officers; and
(6) performing any other secretarial duties as assigned by senior officers.

Working Hours:
The incumbents are required to work 44 hours gross per week (including meal break) and may be required to work overtime.  Actual working hours will be arranged by supervisors.

Working Locations:
The post holders will be required to work in AFCD Headquarters in Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices.

Terms of Appointment:
Applicants will be appointed on contract terms under the PRSC Scheme. The contract period is about 6 to 12 months. The actual contract period will be determined by the AFCD according to operational needs.

(4) providing logistic support for training courses, meetings and briefings;
