Good aquaculture practices

Aquaculture Technical Supporting Services

Aquaculture Technical Supporting Services are dedicated to helping local fish farmers enhance the hygiene of their fish farms while providing them with professional technical advice and support. Our key objectives include:

  1. assisting fish farms in implementing “Good Aquaculture Practices” (GAP) to optimise their aquaculture environment, improve their quality and efficiency in the production of aquaculture products, and ensure compliance of the overall aquaculture processes with the production standards;

  2. collecting samples of aquatic products and water from fish farms for laboratory testing as necessary to ensure all produce fully meets food safety indicators and testing requirements; and

  3. helping fish farms establish a comprehensive aquaculture record system to enable traceability from source.

We are committed to working with the sector to promote the sustainable development of the local fisheries while providing the public with a steady supply of fresh, safe and high-quality local aquaculture products with reduced carbon footprint through empowering local fish farmers to raise the hygiene standards of their fish farms as well as enhancing the quality and market competitiveness of their aquatic produce.
