Licence to Import/Introduce from the Sea Application Form (AF 243) Word Format(32.4KB) PDF Format(77.9KB)  e-Form
An application for a Licence to Import/ Introduce from the Sea must be supported by the following documents.
  • Photocopy of a valid CITES Export Permit from the CITES Management Authority of the previous exporting place.

An application for a Licence to Export / Re-export must be supported by the following documents.
  • Photocopy of the Licence to Import/Possess issued by this Department or CITES Export Permit issued by the previous exporting place (Certificate of Origin for certain species).
  • Documents (e.g. invoice) showing the chain of transactions from the original importer to the exporter.

An application for a  Licence to Possess must be supported by the following documents.
  • Photocopy of the original Licence to Possess issued by this Department to the trader (supplier).
  • Documents (e.g. invoice) showing the transaction from the supplier to the applicant.

Re-export Certificate Application Form (AF 245) Word Format (29.4KB) PDF Format (110KB)  e-Form
An application for a Re-export Certificate must be supported by the following documents.
  • Photocopy of CITES Export Permit/ Certificate of Origin (for certain species) issued by the exporting place;
  • Documents (invoice, contract etc.) showing the chain of transactions from the original importer to the exporter.

Notes:
  • Application forms could also be obtained by fax via telephone number 1823 or obtained in person or by mail to this department.
  • Normally 2 working days will be required for processing an application. However, applications may be delayed if information is incomplete or supporting documents are lacking. A longer processing time may be required if the application involves checking with other CITES Management Authorities or the CITES Secretariat, or inspection of the specimens or the keeping premises.
  • Each Licence to Import /Introduce from the Sea /Export /Re-export or Re-export Certificate is issued for one shipment at one time and in one lot and is valid for 6 months, while each Licence to Possess is issued for each keeping premises and is valid for 5 years.
