Government announces latest situation of fresh food supply from Mainland
Tuesday, February 22, 2022

A Government spokesman announced today (February 22) that the supply of fresh food from the Mainland remained largely steady yesterday (February 21).

According to the latest information, the throughput volume of vegetables from the Mainland for supply to the local market through the wholesale markets of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization yesterday (as at midnight) increased over that of the days before, and the total market throughput stood at about 750 000 kilograms, some 80 per cent of the volume of a normal day. The supply of chilled poultry yesterday remained steady at around 70 per cent of that of a normal day. The supply of chilled meat is slightly more than that of a normal day. The supply of live pigs is normal.

The AFCD updates and publishes the fresh food supply information daily. Members of the public may visit the AFCD website for updates on daily supplies and wholesale prices of fresh food (www.afcd.gov.hk/english/agriculture/agr_fresh/agr_fresh.html).
