Government announces latest situation of fresh food supply from Mainland

A Government spokesman announced today (February 23) that the supply of fresh food from the Mainland remained largely steady yesterday (February 22).

According to the latest information, the throughput volume of vegetables from the Mainland for supply through the wholesale markets of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization yesterday (as at midnight) was about 628 tonnes, around 70 per cent of the volume of a normal day. The overall wholesale price remained steady. The supply of chilled poultry yesterday remained steady at around 70 per cent of that of a normal day. The supply of chilled meat and live pigs is normal.
