Government announces latest situation of fresh food supply from Mainland
Saturday, February 26, 2022

A Government spokesman announced today (February 26) that the supply of fresh food from the Mainland remained largely steady yesterday (February 25).

According to the latest information, about 2 200 tonnes of vegetables were supplied from the Mainland to Hong Kong yesterday (as at midnight), which is about 90 per cent of the average daily vegetables supply from the Mainland of the previous year. The volume of vegetables wholesaled through the wholesale markets of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization yesterday was about 800 tonnes. The overall wholesale price remained steady.

The total supply of chilled poultry and chilled meat yesterday was around 90 per cent and 85 per cent of that of a normal day respectively. In view of the epidemic situation, the Sheung Shui Slaughter House and Tsuen Wan Slaughter House are closed starting from today until further notice. The Government will take necessary measures to maintain the local meat supply.

The AFCD updates and publishes the fresh food supply information daily. Members of the public may visit the AFCD website for updates on daily supplies and wholesale prices of fresh food (www.afcd.gov.hk/english/agriculture/agr_fresh/agr_fresh.html).
