...在這個為期一年 (由 2011 年 4 月至 2012 年 3 月)、獲香港政府漁農自 然護理署資助的研究，正是這項監察項目的延伸。 在 2011-12 年期間，研究員共進行了 153 次樣條線船上調查，在全港九個調 查區共航行了 5,038 公里，並且觀察到共 327 群中華白海豚 (總數達 1,134 隻)及 100 群江豚 (總數達 272 隻)。中華白海豚大多出沒於大嶼山西面及西北面水域， 而江豚主要平均分佈於香港南面的水域。在 2011 年間，中華白海豚在三個主要 出沒區域的整體數目估計為 78 隻；此數字雖稍高於 2010 年間錄得的最低數字， 但仍發現海豚的數量在三個主要分佈區域...
