Sea turtles recorded in Hong Kong

Species Diversity

There are 5 species of sea turtles recorded in Hong Kong including the Loggerhead, Green Turtles, Leatherback, Hawksbill and Olive Ridley. They are common in the tropical and sub-tropical sea including China and Hong Kong as well as most Asian countries. Nevertheless, only the Green Turtles breed in Hong Kong. Flatback Turtle and Kemp's Ridley, naturally, should not be seen in Hong Kong waters because of their restricted and remote distribution.
