...共拍攝到超過二萬九千多張中華白海豚相片，並辨 認出 153 隻個別海豚，共 434 次，其中 32 隻海豚為相片名錄的新成員。大部分 個別海豚均在大嶼山西面及西北面調查區發現，而且有很多個體於此兩個調查區 來回穿梭。有很多在過去兩年度才首次發現的海豚個體，均在本年度不斷出現， 顯示牠們更多使用香港水域。 4 利用長期相片辨認的數據，研究員亦詳盡分析了數項有關中華白海豚生命史 的參數。有關海豚身體顏色與成長的研究，發現雌性的少年及亞成年個體均較快 經過多斑點的階段；而達到中度斑點階段的年輕成年或年齡較大的亞成年，應大 多是性成熟的個體，並開始誕下幼豚。少斑點的雌性海豚，應全是成年的個體， 當中...

...一年的研究期間，眾多海豚頻 繁地在大嶼山周圍的不同調查區來回穿梭，而這些移動均有利於香港水域內兩個 海豚社交群體有更多交往的機會。在未來數年港珠澳大橋工程進行期間，研究重 點應密切監察個別海豚的移動模式、活動範圍、及在港停留頻率會否受到影響。 一項嶄新的項目亦於本年度展開，主要是透過精密的經緯儀在陸上追蹤中華 白海豚的移動模式及行為變化，以量化船隻航行對牠們的影響。在 2011-12 年間， 研究員進行了 44 次陸上觀察，共花了 174 小時在大澳、深屈及分流的陸上觀察 站跟蹤附近出現的中華白海豚及經過的船隻。期間共發現 184 群海豚，並錄取牠 們的 4,632 個位置數據，以作初步分析...
