漁農自然護理署（漁護署）再度與香港潛水總會舉辦海岸清潔日，安排義工今日（九月二十九日）到西貢橋咀洲，清除棄置於附近海床的漁具及海灘垃圾，以響應國際海岸清潔日。 漁護署發言人說：「海洋生物有機會被棄置於海床的漁具所困致死。清除這些棄置漁具和垃圾有助改善海洋環境，存護海洋資源。」
「署方期望透過海岸清潔活動，潛水員及其他義工可以身體力行，為保持海洋清潔盡一分力，體會到保護海洋生態的重要性，從而提高大眾保育海洋的意識。我們亦提醒潛水員在海床清理棄置漁具及垃圾期間必須注意安全。」
